The volute mixed-flow pump is suitable for conveying clean water or other liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to water. The temperature of the liquid to be transported should not be higher than 50ºC. Widely used in farmland irrigation, industrial and urban water supply and drainage and other occasions.

The volute-type mixed-flow pump has a simple structure, is reliable, and is easy to use and maintain. The performance of the pump is good, the efficiency and power curve are flat, the use range is wide, the power at the closing point is small, the cavitation performance is good, and the use head is 3 to 15 meters.

The casing of the volute mixed-flow pump is generally larger and occupies a larger area, but the height is generally lower. There are two types of volute mixed-flow pumps, horizontal and vertical.

Horizontal volute mixed-flow pump is a pump type commonly used in farmland drainage and irrigation. According to the installation and use conditions such as installation location, pipeline length, etc., there are different water outlet directions, and the lift is more than 3 to 8 meters. Generally, small and medium-sized volute mixed-flow pumps use closed impellers. Agricultural pumps are often sealed with asbestos lead powder or oil-impregnated flax soft packing. If the diameter is less than 300 mm, the water will be discharged in the vertical direction, and if the diameter is above 300 mm, the water will be discharged in the horizontal direction. In order to reduce the length of the pipeline and the number of bends, the inclined water outlet is also often used.

The pump cover is connected with the pump body and the water inlet pipe respectively. There should be proper clearance between the pump cover plane and the impeller plane. If the gap is too small, friction will occur; if the gap is too large, a large amount of pressure water in the pump will flow back and the efficiency of the pump will be reduced. The appropriate gap for actual use is 0.3-0.7mm (push the pump shaft to the inlet end of the pump), and the gap can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the thickness of the paper pad.

The pump body of the volute mixed-flow pump is equipped with a suspension bearing body, which is equipped with 2 to 3 radial ball bearings. If necessary, the thrust bearing can be used to bear excessive axial thrust. Bearings are lubricated with dry or thin oil. The pump can be directly connected to the power machine through a coupling, or it can be indirectly driven by a V-belt, a flat belt or other speed change devices. There is a water seal device at the packing seal. The water source of the water seal is taken from the high pressure side of the pump body. If the suction lift is very high, air may be sucked into the water seal. At this time, external pressure water should be introduced for water sealing.
